I recently spoke with a nonprofit executive who sees Facebook as a great way to ask for charitable contributions. Yes, under certain conditions and with appropriate cultivation. Social media isn’t just a way to ask for donations. In fact, it should be used less for overt ‘asks.’ The best use of social media is for attracting new followers and making them fall in love with your organization by sharing impact stories – the difference you are making in the community.
